About The Silver State Nitro Challenge

Welcome to the Boulder City Raceway, the new home of the Silver State Nitro Challenge.  Each year this event hits a city near the infamous Las Vegas, Nevada.  In previous years, the race has been held at a designated R/C park adjacent to the Sam Boyd's Stadium in Henderson, Nevada.  However, the monstrous event has been relocated to an even bigger and better facility in Boulder City, Nevada.

Boulder City is a town originally created by the government in the 1930's as a small reserve during the construction of the Boulder City Dam, which is most commonly known as the Hoover Dam.  Since then Boulder City has become a quiet little retirement community which stands out from the rest of the loud Las Vegas scene.  Although the population doesn't exceed 15,000, thist own harbors a beautiful golf course, clean and safe housing communities, recreation on Lake Mead, and most of all R/C RACING!!!

Over 400 entries have been counted for this year.  The 200 ROAR sanctioned event.  The race itself begins on Wednesday and continues late into the following Sunday evening.  Wednesday and Thursday are designated practice days.  However, if you attend this race don't expect to practice all day.  The practice heats are organized and run like actual races.  In fact, they're so much like actual races that they require you install your AMD-it transponder to be counted for seeding in the qualifier rounds.

Friday is the qualifying for 1/10 Stadium Truck, Production Monster Truck, and Unlimited Monster Truck (Arena Truck) classes.  Saturday becomes the 1/8 Buggy qualifiers.  Sunday hosts the main events... (to be continued)

We will update this page with pictures from our visit to Boulder City within the next few days.  In the meantime, enjoy the rest of this site.
